I May Be Late Tomorrow.....

All sorted now.
Boxster serviced yesterday.....said on the service sheet that the rear engine oil seal was weeping slightly, that was it. Panicked a bit as car has just gone out of warranty (3 weeks ago in fact) so was keen to get service managers opinion on it. He basically said they all do it to a degree and keep an eye on it.
Pleased with their attitude and approach. I guess in hindsight its a pitfall of getting them to pick the car up and bring it back.
Looks nice and clean though!

Good news, Greg - not least for the poor sod of a service chappie who might otherwise have incurred le wrath terrible du midlandium mud dweller.
It's a shame your not bringing GG out to play on Friday - I really did fancy another whiff of perfect mid-engineered balance.
Hail to thee...

Well, to be honest I was a bit pissed off last night. Imagine your missus gets home a few hundred sheets lighter but a nice clean car. Oh, and your rear engine oil seal is leaking?
WTF?
My initial thought was why wasn't it done under warranty? THEN I checked the car's documents and found it was first registered at the end of June. So, I put 2 and 2 together and made 5, thinking tight bastards they've wriggled out of doing it just because its three weeks past warranty. I'll 'ave 'em.
So I made sure I was ultra miffed when I got there earlier (mucho thanks to DeR for the abuse and repeated questioning of my parentage), ready to give the service manager what for.
Anyways, all explained away to my utmost satisfaction and the customer was right, thankfully. I'm not going to name the OPC (I have offline to a few people) but I was pleasantly surprised - Daz knows a few people there, and others came from an OPC that recently closed. Sadly my experience at that OPC wasn't quite as good as todays.
All rosy back in the Thomatic garden that is life then.....

** UPDATE **
All not bleeding rosy in the Thomas garden.
Emm gets home yesterday, says "There's something wrong with the car - its not picking up as it should". Demo forthwith, and shes right - above 4K it sounds as rough as industrial grade sandpaper. Not to worry thinks I - I'll drop it back in this morning and get them to have a butchers.
So there I am swapping laptops and such twixt cars and there it is - a bloody great FUNNEL sticking out of the oil filler, with the filler cap rattling around in the little recess.
WTF???
I shall be speaking to them later today. Strangely enough, removal of funnel and replacement of cap and the engine is bellowing once again.
Chimps.
