Okay, I don't normally like these threads, but looking in the classifieds the prices of S3's seem all over the place...

Now i'm not interested in trade offers, just wondering what people think I should put it up as a private sale?

its a 2002 (225bhp) with 80k on the clock - 1 previous owner, a very full service history and a few months warranty remaining.

Ming blue (i think - that dark inky blue), nappa leather interior (recaro sports seats), bose system.

All in all, reasonable condition - me being picky as i am it probably would benifit from a paintwork correction thing, though no dents, just a couple of light scratches. Good tyres all round etc..

I realise its high miles, but it had a major service just before xmas - so 20-odd K before the next one - garaged most nights, only used on motorways (same for previous owner who was friends with the garage i bought it off - where my mate works so I knew the history of the car).

At a guess I would say adding about 1k sounds about right.

I like the disclaimer at the bottom! hehe

A good honest advert and pretty fair too in regards to paint correction. One of my pet hates is when people advertise a car that has an average price, claims it's immaculate and then later in the advert says "Body needs tidying, easy to do and will only cost £200 to do but I haven't got the time", as soon as I read that I switch off..

Good luck with the sale. smile

Cheers Rob,

I had planned to have it done around March time (once the spreaders had finished), but since i'm planning on selling the car sooner I may not be able to book it in in time, so figured i'd be honest about it - no sense in wasting anyones time...

Though to be honest, i wonder how much of it is me being pedantic, and if anyone would actually notice! smile

Oh come on, you can't say that without a comment on what you are thinking of getting?

I'd love for someone to try and tell me how much mine is worth?

2000 210bhp S3 (pre facelift) in imola yellow with yellow seats with 115,000 on the clock, but practically the whole car is new, engine / turbo replaced etc. at 63,000 miles.

Thoughts / piss takes welcome hehe

i would say privately you will get 8-8.5k

Very nice car but with petrol prices so high alot of people are after diesels.

I sold my s3 last nov and got a gt tdi golf as im doing 550 miles a week.
No traders would buy it as they were only after diesels and private was quite hard with only a few viewings so i sold it at the auction

it was a 52 plate 225 with 80k and fash. standard.
got 8k minus fees which wasnt to bad as it was close to xmas etc. it also needed 2 tyres, front discs, rear pads and discs, front arb bushes, service, mot, cambelt change (1k of work)

good luck mate as they are very good cars in which i would have another
