Been having problems with a flat battery lately cos car not getting used that much at the moment. Have had it on trickle charge and think I may have fried the park sensor on my wipers (they wont turn off) Such a pain with the damn cover over the battery to disconnect it, so was thinking of relocating into the boot? Any thoughts on this and anyone else done it? Also got damp probs within car when covered over, am getting mould. Whats the best stuff to use to absorb some of the dampness? Was going to go to a local caravan centre to see what stuff they had tommorrow.

If you get Steve Heath's knurled alloy knobs to replace the allen screws it only takes about 20 seconds to remove the battery cover.

Why are you removing the cover? You don't have to remove it to charge the battery up.

I know!, But in not undoing the cover and not disconecting the battery to charge I think I have fried the park sensor on my wipers as I have read on a previous post on PH. X3 for that!wink

My other half uses these in her house - which is susceptible to damp:

They seem to work quite nicely smile

Trickle charging using a proper trickle charger shouldn't fry anything. The max tickle charger should be no more than 7Amps. Acumates are perfect for the job but others may be too much.

I'd like to relocate the battery up the ass of the clever chap who decided on it's current location on the Cerbera.

Having just removed one I can vouch for the fact that it aint too difficult (even I managed it) and doesn't take all that long, but I have to ask....

WHY ?

perhaps the battery was an after thought or perhaps even the whole car was designed and built around it biggrin

Nope hadnt thought of re-locating it there, reckon you'd need more than copper grease on the terminals to do that! That would make him eek unless of course he was a bandit
