All,

My T350 is unfortunatley in need of a new clutch and having done a bit f research i now know i have 2 options...The standard AP or the upgraded raceproved clutch.

I have not however been able to find any info on peoples actual experience's with each clutch, hence am finding it difficult to make a decision on which to have.

Any advice on this matter would be most apprieciated,

LJM

I have a std TVR Power clutch assembly together with a Clever Trevor Raceproved release bearing/assembly. Works well, feels more 'solid' in engaging.

iv done 6k on a new standard AP clutch and seems fine, doesn't engage as easily as the previous one but then i think the previous one wasn't right when i bought the car, at least the standard jobby comes with a 12 month warranty.

I think alot of the problems with disengaging is with the clutch assemblies not being assembled correctly in the first place .In answer to the original question has anybody had a clevor trevor clutch fail ?

Can add to Targa's report by this Friday - collecting the T350 with Raceproved bearing plus Raceproved clutch, & driving 250 miles back.

Well i managed to find a bit of info on the tuscan forum and have decided to go for the Raceproved unit, based on the fact by AP's pressure plate has lasted a mere 12k....Fingers crossed.

Hopefully will be fine.

Suggest you strongly advise whoever's fitting it to be sure that the travel on the clutch pedal to slave cylinder is adjusted very carefully to not go too far, to avoid failure of the fingers which appears to happen even with these improved units if they are overstressed. smile

Off topic, how are you finding the T350 in driving terms after the Noble? I debated possibilities of a GT0 3R as an alternative to mine before I bought it in '04, but never test-drove one!

Being honest the TVR is a bit of a let down following the Noble but it does depend on what you want to use it for, The noble was twice the car on a and b roads....so much better planted. On the other hand the TVR is a much more practical and comfortable car.

Go and test drive one...My money would be on you buying it!!

Hi there,

My T350 has started making a squealing sound whenever i take my foot of the clutch pedal. Another member suggested this might be a sign that a thrust bearing has gone, and i might potentially need a new clutch. Trouble is my local garage might not be able to fit me in until July (i've just taken june off work with the hope of doing a european road trip...bugger).

Any ideas if it is indeed likely that I need a new clutch, or just a new bearing (non-technical newbie talking here)...and if so, how long it might take/how much it might take to do the work? Also, the car is under a full wear & tear warranty so just wondering if there are any other specialist garages I should consider, and whether its safe to drive the car up to one of this places, get it fixed and then drive it back again?

Many thanks,
Sanjeet
