Nurburgring easter weekend...
Discussion
I know its not the best time to go, but is it really worth avoiding completely? My mate is having trouble getting time off work for other dates where its open all day and we're thinking of maybe heading down there on the Saturday and staying until Tuesday - are we mad??
If so, we'll have to re-think march, im hoping it'll be alright though, surely its quiet on monday/tuesday morning??

I'm no expert but since you have no bites so far I might as well stick in my 2p...
It all depends on your approach I guess. I haven't been out for Easter but went out for the VLN weekend in May last year which was ridiculously busy, big queues, lots of binned cars and stoppages. It was still great fun though and you can still get some good laps in, just be prepared to spend more time nattering in the car park, queue longer to get on, not have as many reasonably clear laps as you would like and probably hang around while there are some closures too. If you can live with that then it's worth doing. Best bet would be to build on a day or two before/after Easter to try and get some time when it's quietened down a bit.
The guys on www.northloop.co.uk will be able to answer from experience.
Oh, and book your accommodation now!

As the guy above said, look on Northloop for info, however, if you go at Easter, expect it to be busy, its the first major weekend of the year and it will be busy. Either that or snowing
Saying that, i`ll be there but I`m not expecting to get many laps done on sat/sun, but you never know...

It'll be our first trip so we're fine with taking lots of breaks during the day/ getting in laps when its quiet early on and later in the day - also we'll hopefully be there over the monday/tuesday too which should be a little quieter maybe??
Not sure on the weather, but we were originally planning February, so hopefully it'll be a little better? Will have a chat with my mate and see what he can do.. dont really want the trip to be delayed further though ideally.

It'll be really busy if the weather's good - I was there at the same time last year and it was gorgeous. It means queues and a crowded track but it also means lots of great machines to ogle in the car park and you can enjoy the time between laps. Track closures are much more common under such conditions but it didn't spoil the experience for me. I hope to be there again this Easter. I got more lapping in my recent winter visit but with hardly anyone there it lacked the atmosphere. When it's crowded it's good fun to go and view as well.
Looks like we may be there late on the 22nd and staying till the 25th (hopefully catching some more time there on that day too...)
Still need to confirm with my mates work - but looks hopeful..
where are you all staying out of interest/ where would you recommend? We're hoping to stay near the track/the place that does the steak on a stone (pistensomething?)/ decent bars... any advice?
Thanks again,
look forward to meeting some of you very soon,

Will be there, the last 4 years has been Snow-sunshine-rain-sunshine/rain.
So your weather guess is anyones.
It WILL be busy but the atmosphere is great,i dont go for the laps at Easter i just go for the break.
Think you will struggle to find accomodation locally, but you may get lucky.
Ben Lovejoys Nurburgring website has links to plenty of accomodation.
If you get in real trouble PM me and i might be able to sort something.

A friend of mine will be in a greenish focus 1.6 too. Would love to take the Cerb, but not for my first trip...
