The M11A is obsolete. The replacement is an M12A.

Carl Baker is your man to speak to.

The M12A requires a slight mod to the wiring but Carl supplies the instructions on what to do.

Took me less than 1 hour to change mine.

I found a correct version replacement Meta sounder for my Griff on Ebay - search under "Fiat alarm" as they sometimes appear there. Can't quite remember where the sounder is on a Chim but on the Griff its just behind the raditator on the nearside (clever!! no wonder they fail) The wiring disappears behind a rubber grommet and behind there sat the multiplug. Took no more than 10mins to replace in total.

The entire alarm system can with it, CPU, sensors wiring, remotes even the little red cards - all for 30 quid

I have had the dash off mine a few times now and getting pretty good at it. Less than 5 minutes to remove the dash. Same for replacing it. Once you know where the nuts are and how much the dash will actually flex it's not that bad a job.

I did the same modification to the wiring that Carl suggests but in such a way that keeps the original plug and socket connector for the alarm sounder under the front of the car so that a M12A will connect by just plugging it in without any problems. it involves swapping the wires around at the alarm box end of the wiring under the dash. It's not difficult but there is a better chance of screwing it up this way if your not careful.

The most fiddly bit I found was actually bolting the new sounder into the bracket through the front of the car.
