Is it a Saxo you have, or a Corsa?

Colour depends on which brake pads you use silly

Halfords is your best bet for the paint, it's probably easier to do if you remove the caliper or perhaps just take the disks off so you can get better access. Top tip - don't paint over the bleed nipple!

Personally I think yellow and red aren't going to mix to well but its your car...

I painted the calipers on my Westfield in black. Don't shell out for caliper paint, Hamerite is as good as anything and more than capable of handling the high temperatures. I left my brake lines attached but removed the calipers and took pads out etc.. Use a brush applied Hamerite and take your time especially around dust seals etc... Was a doddle and smartened the calipers up a bit, wouldn't have bothered on an ally caliper though.

no its a s2 elise! not a corsa !!!!!! just that if i paint em red then the reds may clash! may just stick to black! and highlight the lotus logo with yellow!

Get some red ones ... with Brembo down the side wink

I think black with yellow writing might be a better idea, a bit like the AP Racing calipers.

painted calipers look a dam site better than the crap un finished ones lotus supply. They should be painted from new. even if its black. It amazing what a difference the little things can make to look of a vehicle....

Ofcourse painted calipers on cars like saxoz and corsa's does look daft...

You need to ensure the calipers are spottlessly CLEAN too,the paint will stay on them longer.

Yea like MadProf said I de-grease them before painting them or the paint just wont stick.

I do like the idea but highlighting the rear calipers with a paint only makes them look small and weedy.

If you're willing to have them fully rebuilt, then you can have them done in pretty colours... http://www.biggred.co.uk/

Iv used Caliper paint from Halfords on my Calipers before and it burnt off on a trackday, it stank, but the smoke pouring off the brakes looked impressive! Probably gonna get mone powder coated at some stage, think its by far the best option and by hunting around you will find somewheer that will do it at a good price. smile

I painted the actual pad back plate to get around this problem. Makes them look much more meaty.

I've been thinking of doing this too (Ardent Red S2) as my discs and pads all need replacing soon. I was thinking Red with the Lotus writing picked out in white.

Not sure about doing the back red as someone else has said they are a bit puney looking, so I may just paint the back black.

Any pics would be good!
