Porsche questions
Discussion
Hi there guys ive got a quick question about porsche
I remember when I was growing up Porsche made many models of cars, 944, 928 and the still very famous 911 and possibly other models
this is where my question is
Why have they concentrated so much on the 911 design, I know its a fantastic car but why did they discontinue the other models. Surely an upto date 944 or 928 would be a fantastic idea to compete with the likes of the various models offered by ferrari and lambo.Or possibly its a case of that they are not as wealthy as the other manufactures.I know they build the 500 000 pound porsche a few years back but I did not like it at all.
if anyone can fill me on this it would be much appreciated, or possibly fill me in on any up and comeing porsche
cheers. please excuse any of my bad grammar

I would advise that you post this in the Porsche section. Note that the Boxster,Cayman and Cayenne were not about when the 944/968/928 were about.
As for new models - A 4door saloon like coupe is due called the Panamara - looks ugly but so did the Cayenee and that made allot of sales.

just to chuck a spanner or two of confusion in...
Porsche now own a large chunk of Volkswagen AG shares.
Volkswagen own an 'operating division' called Audi and so also Lamborghini. VW also own Bugatti and Bentley and we should never forget the truly great cars made by Seat and Skoda as well - they are both VW subsidiaries (and sarcy-git mode now off for today!)
I'm sure that VW have an stake in China as well and make Beetles (original format!) in either Mexico or Brazil...
Porsche are not struggling financially - they just make lots of wrong-engineered cars with the go-bits in the wrong place.
