Hey guys,

My passenger side headlight pod is slowly clicking up into place while the drivers side pops up imeadiatly.

The car sat in the shop for a year so I am thinking maybe its just gunked up. How can I tell if the motor is going bad, or if it just needs to be lubed, or if maybe there is just a bad relay or something.

Thanks,

Andy

Sounds like the gears might be getting worn.
Might have to get some Fiero parts to fix it.

Check to see if the acutuator rods are binding or check the motor with the rods disconnected. It's right there if you open the front bonnet.

You mean, it's not actually still sitting in the shop???

You know what this means, ANDY IS BACK!!!!!

So how does it feel to be back in the saddle??

I'll be up to Jaime's to get my oil change and AC charged on the 4th. Any chance you might be headed to LOG in August?

Thanks,

I will check it out today when I get home from work.

Yes Mike its back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It has been on the road for about a week now. We have already hit about 4 little local shows here and are having a blast with it. It runs so much better then when I bought it, the S4s head made a huge difference, along with all of the other port work.

Mike call Jamie and get directions to the Brits by the Bay show this saturday. Jamie is taking a small contingent of cars, and I know of some others coming. It is this Saturday 9am-around 3 I think. I would love to see you there.

If the manual raise knob in the back of the motor is turning, then the motor is good and the head light switch is functioning. More than likely the clutch plastic pucks in the motor gear mechanism are crumbled. Take out the motor/gear assembly and remove the gear cover. If there are plastic pieces everywhere inside then the solution is to find the repair procedure in my past postings. I think someone did a pictoral on the procedure. I would use either polyethylene or with a little more work ryton plastic pucks.
