Why are so many replica owners incapable of completing "the last few finishing touches"?

Is it a sudden realisation that it's not a Ferrari, never will be, and that it's easier to endure the months of internet laughter when selling, instead of the lifetime of shame when driving it?

I saw an MR2 based ferrari 355 replica in Reading the other day and it looked awful. Unfortunately there are people out there who can't see the difference, but I'd feel embarressed driving one myself.

A friend of mine hasd just paid nine and a half grand for a Lambo Countach replica, it's one that is based on a 70's Beetle.

I am curious as to what this thing will be like, the interior is from a real LP500, as are the wheels and front windscreen (so I'm told). I'm yet to see it. I believe it's called a Provo or Prava or somthing.

I wonder if it will still have the farty old 1303cc flat four..?

hehe

I have spent just over £35,000 on this car to date.

Probably the most expensive 406 in the world !!!

prova made a decent looking car im in two minds one says anyone who likes lambos is ok by me and if you can get one looking similar for half the price then it gives u plasure and who knows for the future ownership, on the other hand any of them priced in the same bracket almost as a real one is madness.

Rip off! Iirc the 406 kit requires the part of the roof to be cut off as well.

Sod that, losing structural integrity for a kit? thats just dangerous.

Prova! Thats the one!

To be honest, although these sort of replicas aren't my cup of tea (at all)and I wouldn't be seen dead in one, the guy I know buying this particular example is real petrol head, and at the end of the day that is what we all are, and if he is happy, so am I.

Though I still reserve the right to take the piss as often as I can...

I can understand replicas, the ones that are actually decent replicas that is, but its the cost of the damn things that I think is stupid. Now if it were a fantastic looking replica of say a Veyron, or a Mclaren F1 or a Zonda, then the price wouldn't be too bad, but when you're looking at only half the price of a real car, it all seems a bit pointless!

And its FRONT wheel drive??? How could you drive that?

How about the numerous Cobra replica's, or the Chesil Speedster? I would have either of those without a seconds thought. Definately would not have a bloody Toyota 355 though hehe

To be fair, it looks like it might be one of the better replicas ... but still more expensive than a genuine 348. The rear seats might be handy though smile

The car also comes with a valuable number plate which spells MODENA. (It was valued last year at £1500+)
Any guesses as to the reg mark? I reckon MOD 311A with a strategically placed screw cover.
