Oil temperature sensor

This evening I had an error message on the display for the oil temperature sensor. For the rest of the journey it stayed at 51 degress and on the way back sayed at 0. I pressume it needs a new temp sensor but for the next month i'll have trouble getting time to take it to a garage (the garage i normally use isn't open at the weekend).

Can anyone tell me if it's something that i could do myself and therefore where to buy one, or if its something the garage could do quickly while i wait?

Quick and easy to do yourself.

The sensor is at the drivers side of the sump, just unplug and replace.

The only thing is that the sensor is not in a thermowell it has direct contact with the oil so as soon as you take the sensor out you start to loose your oil
