Any plans to extend the search age
Discussion
I agree.
Why isn’t there an option to search threads over two years old?
Why doesn’t the search feature work from mobile devices?
You can work around that by clicking post, then using the search from there. Bookmark the page that comes up, then use that bookmark whenever you want to search in future.
Almost everyone has internet access via their phones, pocket pc’s etc. Now when people have mechanical problems away from home, the information is a life saver.
But only if you can find what you need to know.

Searching a database is one of the most intensive things you can do. Searching for small words (IE two characters like Z4 (see other thread) is very intensive. Adding more options narrows down the search by using more WHERE clauses, this makes the query quicker IF the schema is made in such a way that the fields you want to filter on are easy to differentiate the data without processing it first. (Hope that made sense).
On the one hand you have features like the search improvements. On the other hand you have speed (which is what everyone bitches about).
You can't have both!
Or, rather, you can... if you have lots more monies for servers
