Best car alarm to fit to TVR!
Discussion
My winter project is now complete. Its now ready for the road. I do not have any off road parking, and live on a main rd. I want to fit a good alarm for piece of mind.
Can anyone recommend a decent system that wont cost a fortune. ANy advice at all will be appreciated, thanks in advance!!

Not knocking Carl - he is a top bloke but it's pretty easy to do the alarm yourself if you're brave enough. The its satisfying to do and once you've done it, you know the system so if it ever goes wrong, you can diagnose and fix the problem easily and cheaply.
Over Xmas I put in one of these alarms from Autowatch and have been very happy indeed with it - especially love the boot popper. Its a very secure, very small and well engineered unit and has been 100% reliable since I put it in

Bought due to it's very good reputation of reliability and good build quality. It can even monitor your garage door wirelessly, though I didn't bother with those bits!
Edit: To get the Thatcham approval though, you need it signed off by a test centre. I happen to know an alarm installer so I got him to check the installation and sign off the insurance bit.

Yes Carl is the man.
Mine has the 'Meta' alarm as fitted by the factory but it never worked properly despite the 'we'll have a look at it' from others before.
Took it to Carl. He took out the trans tunnel, door cards, dash/top and alarm in minutes (I thought I would have to find a room for the night as I was sure it would never be all back and working for me to drive the 4 hours back home)
Then an early break for cake, coffee, chat and brilliant music whilst his laptop went through it's routine then quickly all back together. Some parts weren't charged as was lucky enough he had some kicking around from somewhere else. Cost was very reasonable.
As a by product it also cured my hot start problem.
Oh and while waiting for the laptop he looked at the radio/CD as he thought the quality was disappointing - diagnosed/fixed a few problems and totally transformed it.
As a customer, I was the most satisfied I've been for years.
If you are reading this Carl - thanks again.
