Why do Haymarket (the publsiher of Autosport/F1 racing/etc) keep using them (brackets) in their copy? It makes me mad (annoyed). They'll write something like: "Jenson (Button) drove well...." do they think we are all thick? How many other "Jensons" are there in F1 (Formula One)???

Taken from America (USA) they (The Americans) have been doing it (the brackets thing) for a long time. Most of thier online Mags and National Newspapers use the dreaded bracket syndrome.

[sarcastic]

I hear that Bernie (that short-arsed money grabbing ex-cheating boss of the Brabham Formula One team, Ecclestone) has been speaking to Max (failed Formula 2 driver who only thinks about the PR side of the FIA and never the driving spectacle, Mosley) and they do actually want a British GP. Silverstone (home of the GP since 1950, with the few execptions of Aintree and Brands Hatch) is still the favourite (most popular result) as long as they ((the BRDC with President Jackie Stewert (3 times World Champion) and Chairman Martin Brundle (former Tyrrell, Brabham, Benetton, Ligier and Jordan GP driver) and Octagon (operators and contract holders of the Grand Prix)) can come up with the £40 million pounds (the currency of Great Britain) for the upgrading of the pits, paddock and grandstand facilities (used by the public).

Maybe I should apply for a job?
