So with the route petrol prices have recently gone, and with eventually petrol running out, i'm seriously considering LPG'ing the daily hack.

Avoiding the usual sanctimonious (Sp?) calls on how wrong it would be and the usual if you can't afford it etc., would any of you consider LPG on your Italian steeds?

Petrol won't run out for a long long time. If I had the means to purchase an exotic car I wouldn't ever consider converting it.

Diesel for Audi R8 makes sense. There's a 430 E85 . . .

LPG let's you loose 25% of your power . . .

the trick is to run a range rover too. that makes my 360 seem like a frugal every-day around town car.

I'm trying that tack with the wife at the moment Nervy ... Ferrari in the garage and a tweaked V12 850 as a daily hack ... the decision could go either way at the moment.

LPG sports car would be useless....

If it comes to that you might as well not have one. All looks and no substance.

E85 is the way to go IMO. I remember Tiff Needel driving a E85 fuelled Exige and there is a Koenigsegg that can be driven on both, petrol and alcohol.
Well, I just like the idea of getting strong thanks to alcohol!!! biggrin

I thought LPG was a higher RON than petrol so properly setup with the right equipment presumably it could develop more power? - I'm not saying it would be easy but then again I doubt you'd want to put a cr@ppy conversion on a swanky italian car.

If there was a really nice conversion I'd consider it, but it would depend on costs & the hardware - tapping for extra injectors may even not be possible due to space constraints on a lot of these cars..

Sounds like an absurd idea.

Where exactly would you put the large lpg tank?

Maybe I could put the tank on the rear luggage shelf of my 550? Sure, it would look great sat on that lovely GTO quilted leather.

Have raised the E85 query on the General TVR forum and there have been some useful responses and thoughts;

I'd consider bio-ethanol on the 355, if its true it burns cleaner, is better for the engine and gives you a power increase like it does on the Koenigseggeseggesegsgggegg.

Lpg seems pretty pointless though.
