Does anyone have a quick guide to how to do it? I want to raise them up so I can see beyond my numberplate

Quick guide

1) Wait till its dark
2) Find big wall and place car 8m away.
3) Mark centre line of headlight bulbs on wall in tape
4) Take screw driver and insert in adjuster in picture.
5) rotate adjuster to make the high intensity center of the beam level with the tape
6) repeat for the other side
7) done

Make sure the car has half a tank of gas and is not loaded. This is an approximate method and you should get the beam adjusted using a MOT standard machine to be sure. This method is what I can remember of the method in most Haynes manuals.

Cheers, I eventually found your posts by changing the search word from adjusting to adjust!

So basically park 8 meters away turn lights on, on wall place tape so it crosses the cetner of the light beam then adjust so the light is just stitting on the top of the tape?

When I read the above I took it to mean you should probably park car next to wall and put tape on wall level with the middle of the lens then move car 8m away and adjust light until the brightest point is on the tape? Or have I got it wrong?

That's basically the way I was taught to do it as a kid when the old man was doing MOT prep jobs at the house, only difference being he had a marker on the ground to place the car facing the wall which at that age could have been 5, 8, 10, 12 meters for all I can remember...

we dont all have mates like that or mates at all :'(

After work I parked opposite the warehouse and gave 7 clicks to each lamp = what an adjustment. I could actually see the road more than a foot ahead. Free easy simple mod

oh it did! The run I did last night was 80+ miles of country A-roads. Luckily I know the roads well but the difference was a big one. Can see so much further with just few extra degrees of adjustment.
