Hi All,

Just found these forums as I'm on the lookout for a Noble and thought I'd ask everyone what their thoughts on whether it is worth the extra money going for an unmodified 3R over an unmodified 3 both with similar miles?

3R cos you get a track day sump ,Lsd , a stronger 6 speed gearbox and , depending on your taste , nicer looking wheels . Only my opinion , of course

Not sure the 6 speed is any stronger - isn't 5th meant to be a weak point on those?

Depends really on what you want to do with the car. In standard trim either car makes a brilliant drive and delivers pure driving pleasure leaving you with a grin on your face every time.
I have 22,000 non-essential miles over nearly 5 years to proove it. Every one a pleasure mile!
Obviously if you intend to track the car then the upgrades make sense.

There are some 3's with the 6 speed box and LSD and some 3Rs with the 5 speed box and open diff, just to confuse you even more !

How do you find out which ones have the different diff. Is it after a certain build date, or was it up to the buyer.

Steve.

I'm not sure, but I'd assume if it's got a 6 sp then it has a LSD as well.
