Yup I know strange request! Looking for a broken bit of engine, as in mangled or bent. Something like a valve, piston or con-rod. Needed for a car club trophy so nowt expensive! Not fussed about state as we can get it cleaned & polished. Will happily pay postage plus a small donation to a beer fund.

I've got a bit of a piston in here somewhere that you're more than welcome to. I picked it up of the hard shoulder of the M55. The owner of the piston though he'd blown a head gasket!

Let me see if I can find a pic of it...............

I was thinking of something a bit more recognisable LOL! But it looks good.

Would a bit from a gearbox do? It's not broken; just not needed. If you're interested, I can take a picture of it. It's a rear transmission shaft input from an Audi TT gearbox; it'll make a great base.

Would be interested in a pic if you could please, hadn't thought of gearbox bits.

Damn - I can't find it at the moment (it's a bit cold in the garage; I'll have a look tomorrow when it's a bit warmer). I may have thrown it out a couple of months ago (I can't find a steering column I'd kept that the previous owner of my car had "welded" (in the loosest possible sense of the word)). However, it's possible I put it a bit further out of the way than my initial searches had covered.

Failing that, a mate of mine builds high performance engines; I'm sure he's got some spare parts.

When do you need the bits?

Nope - couldn't find it. Although after discussing it with my mate, I remembered I had this:

Another view:

Is that any good?

It's actually a brand-new balance shaft for some BMW engine of some sort - my neighbour worked for Federal Mogul who makes this. This one failed the inspection, so I ended up with it.

Thanks for the offer but I've sorted it now thanks.

Just won this on E Bay 110221898449

A Renault F1 con-rod in Titanuim. Should look good on a piece of wood with a silver plaque.

PS That balance shaft would need a big mantle piece!
