was considering a 52reg 111s with 30k miles, for £13,500. Car has limited service history, and has only been serviced twice. The last being 10k miles ago. Garage has just completed the C service cambelt change etc, and say car runs fine. They also said car has been stood for 6 months. Is it worth the risk or wait for a car with full history with possibly dearer price. Would appreciate any feed back. Thanks

Give it a miss. There's loads of good cars with full histories either from a dealer, specialist or owner serviced. That car sounds like its been unloved.
On a four year old car I'd expect a dealer or specialist stamp on the nail.

Nock him down a grand, buy a warranty and walk away laughing. It is a metro engine for gods sake!

Yep - reckon this is the right answer if the condition of the car is A1. If you keep the car for a while and have the car regularly serviced, then this will also count for re-sale time. As the big C service has been done, do something on the price, get a warranty and buy it if it ticks all the other boxes.

Its only missing one service and if the latest was the big one I wouldn't worry too much though I'd want it cheaper than that. Only a rover engine after all - and as long as it hasn't been tracked or thrashed - check for signs of abuse.

Other thing to bear in mind crashed cars get seperated from their service histories.......

Sounds alright to me, assuming it is in good nick. With the elise, the engine is just a boggo rover job, the car looks specialist but any idiot can service the engine. Its things like suspension and geometry that need to be checked out.

If it all checks out, as has been said, buy it for a bargain and get your own warrenty.

thanks for the input, going to view car tomorrow to check overall condition of the car. Also found out the car has bridgestone potenza's on the front and pirelli's on the rear, an ideas of a price for a full set of bridgestone's, if indeed these are the best for the car?
Who said that?

Please email me.

It's annoying that a 111s with the same miles as mine is only going for 13.5 these days. Mine must be worth about 25p now frown
