I've just had some SO3s fitted to replace my SO2s on a 4.0 ltr 98 Chimaera.

I have been told to run them at 2 psi below the recommended for SO2s.

Has anyone seen any published pressures for SO3s and Chimaeras - as theres nothing on the Bridgestone website ??

There is no exact pressure. A lot depends on driving style, car set up and so on. Experiment. If the car feels harder then take a pound of two out.

That sounds about right to me. 22/24 won't be far off for normal road use.

Always try Michelever Tyres - if they can't find what you're after then no-one can!

With those 255s up front the car must understeer and you must have biceps like Arnie!

Try Bracknell Tyres, Longmill Inc Estate (near the rubbish dump) - good guys, great prices. Used them loads of times.

Paid £440 for S-03's all round last week (same sizes as yours). Done by Protyre in Bristol, who are part of same group as Micheldever. Muppet fitted one on backwards though & I didn't check it. Had to go back next day to get it turned around.

Then I saw this (surprised if you didn't?!)

I'll blissfully assume they were 155 R 13's!

Filmstar,
Mine are on a 1998 4 ltr Chimaera - 205 55 ZR15 SO3 Front & 225 50 ZR16 SO3 Rear.

Ordered in specifically - so wasn't old stock

£284 plus 49.70 VAT = £333.70

Micheldever price was good too at £358 - but Bracknell saved me 25 quid & didn't have to do an 80 mile round trip - so try giving them a shout too - maybe better for you

Regards

Roy

have suspicions that some tyre places charge way over the odds. I had a pair of SO3s fitted to the front of the Chim by the local MOT place just coz I didn't have time to shop around. They don't carry a stock of tyres. They ordered, received and fitted them in under 24hrs and charged me a little under £200. And given the look on the blokes face when he was quoting me for them, I could probably have talked the price down.

Would be interesting to know what the trade price is for these tyres.
