Bluetooth and two phones

I test-drove a 335d today. Very nice car but I'm not 100% sure I can live with the auto-box...

Anyway, if you have the Bluetooth option, how does it work with two phones? In other words, if my wife is driving the car she'd want her phone connected, if I'm driving I'd want my phone connected. If you're both in the car at the same time how does it know which phone to connect to?

if your in one at a time, it will connect to that phone. if your in at the same time, it will connect to the one it was last connected too. you can however, turn the bluetooth off on the phone you dont wish to be connected.

and you can also disconnect from the head unit

Seems a silly way of doing it really.

Mine works by a method of priority. If im in the car it connects to mine, if shes in the car it connects to hers, if we're both in the car, it'll connect to mine. Since its my car.

As alex already has said, I believe it actually works on a sequence basis. If your wifes is registered first, then yours second, it will always give hers priority. We do that in my other halfs z4, then the other way round in my car.

Thats how it worked on an 07 z4, an 07 535d, and an 07 x5 anyway.
