A mate of mines Griff (a 2000 on a W plate) requires a new fuel tank. The exisiting one has partially collapsed under the vaccuum pressure when it was run dry. We think a combination of no fuel, maybe a blocked carbon cannister but most definately an after market fuel cap caused this and the assocaited stink of fuel.
Anyway we wish to bin the steel tank and fit the older aluminium tank (including the filler cap as well). Is there any cotchas we should look out for? Are they fixed to body the the same way? Are any of the ancillaries different?
One thin I do know is it eassier to get the targa panel in the boot with the steel tank as opposed to my aluminium one......
