E280 Buying Advice

Hello again. I missed out on the E320 I mentioned in an early discussion, it went for 1070. I am determined to get a good deal and have been offered a 'K reg' E280 import from Japan. Speedometer in KPH but everything else seems to be UK spec. Comes with heated, electric seat, cruise, aircon etc and has original too kit etc. No rust (even on wings) and one potential buyer has rated it very highly. Up for 995 and relatively local so i am tempted. Same potential problems as the E320 of the same vintage? What is the power output of this engine as I assume it is the 24v varient? Thanks again.

I could be mistaken but I don't think Japanese cars are rust treated (no salt on Japanese roads), so that might be worth investigating - although the car would be built in Germany anyway.
