Under the car today and noticed that there was a small leak of fluid. Texture was oily, colour was yellow/orange. The location was the rear corner driver side hex nut, which I think is holding the gearbox cover in situ.
I wondered whether this was a gearbox leak or some other fluid.
Any thoughts welcome

Given the colour I think it is probably coolant.

The Jaguar long life coolant is bright orange

I'd suggest you check all the hose clips. If you have the black sprung steel type rather than worm drive Jubilee clips it's worth changing them over. The spring clips can weaken over time and allow coolant to weep past the joint.

Sometimes under pressure they can blow off too which will really spoil your morning.

Mmm, you might almost be quoting Mrs SB there, on the subject of husbands.
