i've been offered an enticing job in perth, western australia...any idea how one would go about exporting my car, having lived there in the past i know it would be a perfect environment for such a motor, but also remember there are quite steep import duties on these kind of cars.

I believe the key is to take one that is 20+ Years old, then it doesn't attract the inflated import fees

The import duties aren't _that_ bad, except on new new cars IIRC. I'm in Sydney at the moment and a newish 430 spider is $500000 - or about £215000 at today's prices! Ouch. Still, at least they don't depreciate.

Try asking at FChat's Australian section. But the news won't be good I fear.

One of the guys on the TVR threads exported his Sagaris to Sydney last year. Do a search and it'll proabably come up. He might be able to give advice.

Only thing I can add (I'm in Perth) is that you must have owned the car for at least 12 months to be allowed to bring it.
