I am thinking of getting some goodies for the Cerb soon, amongst which might be intake pipes to replace the horrible purple ones.
I know TCR do them too, but has anyone used the ones by ACT? If so, are they any good?
Also the stainless steel water coolant pipes? Any good?
Do ACT do a decent discount if you buy several of their products?

Thanks all

Cad

Do a search for "group buy" and you will see some of the stuff that's been arranged with Tim from ACT in the past.

So has only ONE person bought the stainless pipes and hoses? And no one has bought the induction hoses at all?

I have and Fubes has, etc, I've seen a number of other cars at Austec open days with them fitted too. There's a difference between the two kits, the ACT one has a carbonfibre backplate with trumpets fitted, the TCS one is just the pipes. This accounts for the cost difference between the two. I'm not getting into the stock bun fight about this, people with either setup have been happy with the results, I've been very happy with mine. I also have the ACT stainless water pipes. Fit them and worry about the corroding standard items no more. Good value too.

Steve.

Have a look here on the right.

I think Fubes has a pick of his tasteful yellow pipes in situ, so I'd ask him.

I have the stainless water manifold. It seemed an obvious thing to replace the slightly tatty original when the radiator was out.

If you are putting on the stainless water pipes (highly recomended) the go for a siliconme hose kit at the same time! I didn't and sure rnough within a few weeks I was taking it all apart again to replace a split hose...

Guys, thanks for the feedback.

Jules, I forgot all about that thread. Gives a good comparison.
Is it me, or do the TCS pipes have better spacing than the ACT ones?
Or is it just the photography? The TCS ones seem to have little and consistant gaps between them. Thus better asthetics. Could be wrong though.

Hi Cad,

No your eyes aren't deceiving you.

The Whirlwind hoses have a 70mm-50mm reducing diameter versus the ACT pipes which are 50mm all the way down the pipe. Hence the Whirlwind pipes fill the gaps better.

Do a bit of digging and there is a thread that explains it all. I've already written an explanation on it once and can't be arsed to do it again (getting lazy)!!! The old thread is in the search engine somewhere.

As always with some of the old thread it becomes a little "handbags at ten paces" but there is some theory in between.

Jules.

ps The Whirlwind pipes have changed very slightly since these days and are from a different manufacturer.
