Fistly sorry for a repost...i am drilling through the s2 posts that i can find..but some are making no sence to to....

This is my M5...

So now i have a valid reason to change my car...and was thinking the S2 Elise...

What does this car perform like? power wise and handling?
How bad is the car inside the cabin? noise / heat?

Thanks for any replies...

A bit different to your M5 (sorry about the smackfrown) Best thing is go test drive a few to see if its for you. What sort of budget?

I Aqaplanned on the M25, thought luckly no other car was involved and i walked away with a Headache and a half dues to the airbag...but apart from that was ok..Insurance company is comming tommorow to value the car...

Budget say £12k...

Also whats the resale value like on these cars? how much am i expected to loose for when it comes to selling?

I just wanted something quick and nippy...and ia m thinking this Elise being as low as it is handles very well...no?

Well, it certainly handles better than your M5 does right now wink

Glad to hear you're okay though.

S2 might be pushing it on that money for something in good order (although I must admit to not having looked for a while).

A standard S2 Elise wont give you the grunt your M5 did,it's fast to about 80 but tends to suffer from aerodynamics and raw power beyond that. That said an Elise is probably the most fun you can have driving at legal speeds.

For £12K you will get a 2001/2002 standard Elise (120bhp) with the rover engine.

As others have said, get yourself to a dealers and have a test drive.

It'll aquaplane more than an M5 in similar conditions though.

Yep, wide tyres and light weight mean I've pootled along the motorway at 40mph before in extreme weather conditions...
