It appears to be.

Or at least it seems a lot of us have had the spanners out this weekend.

Somehow I think there's going to be a lot of "do any of you know where ..... " type posts on here over the next few weeks / months.

Well, at least I reckon I'll be putting a few of them on here anyhow.

I took the starter motor out yesterday in readiness for the new one arriving today. That was all I was planning to do.....now I'm going to move the big fuse location to make it easier to get to when it all goes back together. I'm sure as the days get longer my 'list' will grow with them.

I cleaned mine to within an inch of it's life on Saturday, and then promptly splattered a stoopid pheasant across the front on a Sunday morning drive!!!

As mine's in at an indy having a service, I've got the wifes old mx-5 in it's place in the garage. That's been cleaned up underneath ready for a waxoiling when I spotted a broken spring on the front.

If anyone's doing their Wishbones, I've got a full 'ss new' set, all poly-bushed up and ready to fit (your old set on an exchange basis)

I'd add that the exchange ones need to be serviceable, there is some serious rust on some bits, check my other thread. :0

I'm just gearing up for the trips ahead this year. Next up is a switchable map setup and a lean map to give me more economy when the continental sorties I'm planning. I also need to get a decent battery sorted out this year, so it's time for an improved battery clamp that makes replacement less of a PITA than it is currently.

A 'lean' map sounds interesting steve. I presume there will be a compromise as far as performance is concerned? If it makes a difference to economy this is somthing I would be interested in doing to make trips to scotland/s.france more viable.

The aim of the lean map was to engage it at higher speeds to gain economy down the motorway/peage etc, but to retain the standard map for drivability around town. I already have my car mapped, so the cost is not too much. Austec do this for the MBE, so I'm booked in next week to get it done. I find I do about 70 miles per quarter tank at the moment, so I'll see how this improves.

Next job, a good clean and polish. Dropped it off to have the suspension set up this morning. Three weeks of lying on the garage floor ended last night setting the ride hieght and a quick run round the block to be sure it all worked. So that was chassis left in place loose coating removed, chipped then wire brushed, one coat of vactan followed by epoxycote 121 then outriggers and outer tubes sprayed with Dinatrol. Managed to get an extension tube between body and rail so hopefully will delay any further corrosion. Suspension powder coated and polybushed, new GAZ shocks and springs, all new ball joints and all fastenings replaced.

Thanks to all on here who offered help and advice. Now for a rest before returning to work.

Hmm, maybe I should explore this when the car goes in for post running in service. scratchchin

Economy figures on a Cerb is only of interest to accountants and 'squat to pees' wink

I think it's past damage limitation, more a case of the sign but don't look at the numbers school of accountancy. biggrin
