Rear lights

Does anyone know if it's possible to change the rear lights back to standard after fitting after market rear lights as per this car:

I know you might ask WHY? but just humour me please.
I have been told that you have to cut too much out to fit these type of after market lights that it makes it difficult to re-instate standard ones.

I've fitted those Marcos Lights to the rear of my car and It does require a fair bit of cutting and sanding to get them to fit correctly so fitting the standard units back in might be a pretty difficult job.

I cant access the link here at work so cant see what type they are.

If they're the Noblemods afterburner ones then I believe that the standard ones can be refitted. If its the other type (marcos??) then you cant as you have to cut holes in the clam.

All i know is that they were fitted by Vegantune, unfotunately they are no longer so I can't ask them.

They're the Marcos ones then and much cutting would have been done.

So, is the cutting/fabricating done to make these fit too much to return to standard, if it's only fibre glass then I'm sure it's possible. But i suppose it's at a cost.

Anyone know exactly how much is cut about.

To be honest I wouldn't think it would be worth the trouble of putting the old ones back in, plus the new lights will more than likely be bonded in pretty solid if they've been done right, I know mine are, plus there is a fair bit cut away inside to make them fit, hard to say how much but put it this way all the mounting holes for the old lights on mine were cut out and a good 0.5 - 1 inche all the way round too.

The process is reversable....but realy not worth it!

As above, yes, you can reverse it by just GRP'ing in the old lights. The outer 'seal' is the same and so there won't be any gaps externally (but it will look a mess internally!)

Or p/ex the rear clam with someone who wants to buy those quite frankly hideous rear lights as long as theirs is titanium also

Then you can copy art411y and half tint the originals

Ballpark figures:

With genuine Ferrari rear lights and sub looms - about £700.

With aftermarket lights - about £300 less.
