Hey gents just had the Ro' back from her 20k service and although extremely happy with the very reasonable £220 it cost im just starting to get niggles with a couple of issues and wondered if anyone can advise..
Firstly my Wortec tail pipes are starting to rust and are looking fairly tatty even though cleaned regularly. It was fitted late last year and I wondered if there is any comeback to have them replaced.
Secondly since the service the car is whining (sounds like gearbox mabye) and wondered if any others have had similar noises and worth getting picador to check.
cheers for any input
Phil

They are stainless steel and should not rust..........some auto solve and a fine wire wool should have them looking good again.

Thanks for advice on corrosion issues, will try some of the suggestions. The whining noise is more of a concern but i do know that some guys have mentioned a slight noise before on their cars (but this just seems wrong and wasn't present before) is there any other clues to look for to distinguish if it is gearbox related.

not needed to replace any for corrosion...............just polish them..........if pitted!!!rub down with emery paper and re buff.......
I do now I own the car but having fitted scorpion systems to turbo cars in the past and I've not had this much corrosion...? It still sounds great mind!! and to clarrify its only the slip on tips which I want to change anyhow to ones that have a round pipe with 3/4 of another pipe joined on... ala 997 turbo style outlet. Great minds think alike, was hoping to mod VXR8 ones but it looks like its a no go.
Mine has a pronounced transmission whine. It's most obvious at 40 and 80 mph (harmonics??) and although I've reported it to Greens before, they said nothing was abnormal. However, I *think* it's getting louder, so have arranged to go out in the car with the mechanic at the next service in a couple of weeks' time.
The whine stops instantly if you lift off the gas, and returns just as immediately when you power up again.

Thats a sign of bearing wine if only on load, have you had the diff treated as seems the norm with these things or at leat Monaro's...The whine stops instantly if you lift off the gas, and returns just as immediately when you power up again.

Think I might try that, 90% of my journeys are motorway and cruising at those speeds it is very prenounced and annoying, if it had been there since I bought it new I wouldn't mind.
