Now that we can see what the factory have done with the T350C.
How about someone doing it for the Cerbera ?
But make it a one piece roof panel !

Have always thought it would make it the perfect car. A Cut out panel wouldnt effect the role cage or any of the body integrity and as long as it was able to stay on at speed and fit nice in the boot it would be the ultimate Cerbera mod, How many other 190+ mph targas do you know.

I mentioned this to Peter Wheel at Silverstone a few months back. He seem repulsed by the idea. So don't expect the factory to do it anytime soon........

Shame, I think it's a great idea !!!

Put this in another thread the other day. As you can see it's already been done, as it was full targa roof on the original '93 show car, but apparently at the last minute Mr Wheeler changed his mind. Anyone know what happened to this one?

Well I'd go for this! I've wanted a Cerbera for years, from the start in fact, but had to settle for a Chimeara as it had to have a soft top - 'er indoors said. So I run a Chimaera and an A8, and spend a fortune in insurance and tax. A targa Cerbera would replace the two for me, and as a bonus we'd actually be able to use the TVR without having to dump the little 'un on relatives.

Come on TVR, there is a huge pent up demand for a 2+2 with max headroom!

'He seem repulsed by the idea'

I think it's a case of 'NIH'. ('Not Invented Here')

I got a Tuscan over Cerbie so I could get the roof off....

I think the decision would have gone the other way if there was a targa option on the Cerbie

I have always wanted a cerbie and would buy one if it had a targa top.Would it not be possible to get it done at a bodyshop specialists?

Is it me, or is that Cerbie picture with the targa the original 8" extended version rather than the final 12" extended version? It looks kinda stubby. I suspect maybe the Targa went when the length got extended.

The photo may not be a true dimensional match as I had to resize it to get it small enough to post, but the wheels appear round so it can't be far off. It is the original show car and for the keen eyed has 4 stud wheels which means it was probably a mock-up of parts. The rear edge of the roof line does not have the cut back that the current cars have, and the rear edge of the bonnet doesn't have the inner vented panel. Makes you wonder what was under the bonnet?

As far as the targa debate is concerned, I would think that if the roof were removeable as shown, a similar lift out back window ala Tuscan could be needed to stop high speed buffeting, but this would then create a massive through-draft for the rear passengers, that's obviously not a problem in the Tuscan. Still like the idea of one though.

It looks to me like the windscreen is taller a la chimaera, which may be giving an impression that it is shorter.

The length of the doors seems the same as a production cerbie.

Just my 2p worth.

It was the shorter (original) version, didn't really "work" until it was lowered and lengthened IMO.
