BIB at speed anyone else see them?

Travelling back from the west country at about 7pm last night we were passed by no less than 7 traffic cars all flat out between Goole and Hull.
Just before the Ouse bridge 2 were spotted leaving Goole driving towards Boothferry bridge.
Before they joined the M62 a Range Rover passed us in the outside lane. This was then followed by a BMW and then the two cars we had seen earlier being 2 Senators. Then an unmarked Scooby and finally 2 further marked Scooby's and a BMW. All were travelling at speed probably 120-150 so we expected something nasty to have happened further up the road. We turned off at the Humber bridge but there was no sign of anything happening.
Was it last one back to Tower Grange buys the tea?

Worty,
I'm a Humberside officer (not traffic I must stress!!). I am not aware of anything going off last night, although I wasn't on duty.
It was probably a training exercise, although unusual for a Sunday.
FYI we don't have a Range Rover or any Senators, but the Subaru's were probably our Roads crime unit.

Hi Worty,
It's not unusual to see the two marked Subaru's, black Subaru, silver Octavia RS and the two BMW's all in the same place at the same time. They are the "roads crime unit" and generally operate as a unit together e.g if there is a problem in S
horpe they all go to S
horpe and flood the area.
As for the others i'm not too sure. I haven't seen a senator Police car on the road for quite some years!
