What happened last night at the A61 / Ring Road junction?

Traffic diverted from about 5pm to 9pm.

Mucho havoc ensued.

No mention on local news.

Anyone know?

The news said there was a collision with an hgv and 4 cars. I saw one sticking out of the trees but it sounds like some went further down. They closed it off for ages.

All the people queueing from seacroft way towads sainsburys were turned round in the gap on the dual carraige way just after the lights but before the roundabout, all the people going to seacroft from sainsburys were diverted left up harrogate road towards harrogate, and people going to the roundabout from the town centre or scotthall road were able to go left towards sainsburys or straight on towards harrogate. The last two were done in turn for a few minutes each non stop so there were some queues building up.

Any info. on injuries?

At some point they need to build a flyover at that intersection. Or maybe a tunnel.

The radio said 2 people went to hospital, i noticed 2 fire engines (there is a station very near) and an ambulence and an estate car ambulance. Quite a few people were stopped and appeared to be questioned and some were standing around near the crashed cars so were possibly occupants.

They were diverting by 3:15pm so it happened earlier than that but after 2:45-55 as i drove past the other way and it was clear.

Not sure what injuries any of them recieved though.

What they need to do is take down the trees so you can see whats comming round. Also they need people to indicate correctly, the standard of indicating on that roundabout and the one that comes off it is terrible.
They will probably do some huge waste of money thing like they did by colton? sainsburys further down the ring road just next to j46 of the motorway. They removed the middle of the roundabout so you can drive through it on traffic lights. It causes such long queues and takes so long, its quicker to go down in the left lane then just go round the roundabout as you usually would, shaves minutes of waiting in the right hand lane.
