Breitling... Only buy from an authorised dealer?
Discussion
Hi All,
Have finally decided to take the plunge and I'm going to get myself a Navitimer, wanted one for ages so now need to make sure I don't stitch myself up.
According to the Breitling website, only watches purchased from an authorized dealer are covered by the 2 year international warranty.
So how can all the very well discounted companies i've found on the internet offer this warranty, are they in effect second hand watches as they have purchased them from a authorized dealer??
I'm going to visit the authorised dealers that I've listed in London (Selfridges, Leslie Davis, Ernest Jones, Mappin & Webb, Watches of Switzerland) - but will any of these offer good discounts??
Many Thanks, your help would really be appreciated.

I very briefly owned a Breitling for Bentley of some description, which I purchased pre-owned but which had originally been bought from an AD in America and was still covered by the remainder of the 2 year warranty. It had a noisy rotor, so I took it to Breitling UK who checked the warranty card and duly sent it off to the Breilting service centre without another word. As long as it is still covered by the original warranty, you'll be fine.

this is what i'm hoping for, i assume some of the high street chains who are AD's are open to some bartering?
Yup, I got almost 10% off a 50th Anniversary Navitimer which had already been reduced by 30% at Selfridges.GuildfordPaul said:

Dominic is the owner and a long time friend of mine but that isn't what counts here. His name has come up many times in this forum as being very approachable and giving a good deal. They are Breitlingauthorised dealers.

Thanks I'll have to give them a call.Hi, I ended up buying from Ernest Jones.
I went up and down the AD's on Oxford street, and managed to get a steel bracelet navitimer with a black leather breitling strap as a spare at RRP - 15%, so i was very happy.
They seemed all very easy to play off against each other, and the whole process was completed in about 2 hours, parked and started at selfridges, they offered about 8% off right away, I'd taken a list of all AD's local to there and having visited 3 more struck a deal with Ernest.
Good luck, i'm chuffed with the watch, have swapped to black leather at the moment, and love the different looks of the 2 straps.

Bit of a thread hijack but I've had good and s
te service as well from Goldsmiths. We have two in Reading. The one selling pre owned watches is always a pleasure to deal with. The larger one in the Oracle has this snooty guy who seems to ascertain from the look of me that I can't afford anything in the window and I'd be better looking at some of the cheaper range.
