Yep I'll be there

Good to hear about the weather. When I booked it I was hoping for cold but dry, I think warm and dry is a good compromise wink

I'm tempted to make the most of it and book Silverstone the week after but I'll probably leave it till Sunday and see what state the bikes in first.

I will be there.

-6°C as the low on the BBC website, expect a slippery Redgate to start.

ACU boys are running in group 4, should be a good day out.

Had a great day

Was a bit worried about the frost when I nearly lost the front moving off from the drive and spinning the rear at a junction on the ride up but my confidence improved along with the weather and by the end of the day I really started to enjoy it. Didn't quite manage a knee down but at least the chicken strips are gone

Nice work, Jimmy. I think it's easy too see which of us is new to sports bikes. Oh well, at least i was trying. I need to start hanging off that thing. Saying that, i'd only owned it for 18 hours at that point...

I enjoyed the day thoroughly and was more happy with the fact that we all left rubber side down and without incident.

Jimmy5, good to meet you, albeit brief. We couldn't have asked for better weather!!

Pics from me in the group 3 session below.

Was a good day, that focused R6 must have come down pretty hard. It was abit harsh that they drove him down the whole length of the pit wall though.

I got some good pics fromt he day, will have a look to see if I caught any of you guys.

Anyone doing silvertsone full gp on the 31st March

I'm sure it was an instructor who binned the r6. I've got a pic of him riding in an orange hi-vis from earlier in the day.

I'm booked in at Silverstone this Sunday. Its only the national so should make learning lines a bit quicker/easier and give me more time to concentrate on my riding. Hopefully the weather turns out like it did on Saturday

I only saw the one 'off', and almost watched him all the way into the kitty litter myself. Silly boy.

I was in the "novice" group, so couldn't really understand why there were guys out with me on bikes with race fairings, and slicks going like the clappers. Bit unnerving. One guy came past me at a hell of a rate, about 2ft away, and i thought "you tt, I'm wearing a hi-vis vest". I then noticed the word "Mackenzie" written on the arse of his leathers. "Guess he knows what he's doing", thinks I...

It was a great day. The 675 is awesome. What a noise. If only i could ride the thing. Next time...next time...

I must admit, that is one of the, manyfrown, things that make me nervous about trackdays. I am a newbie: Slow, stupid and random boxedin. I do not want people using me as a passing target.. wobble
Otherwise it looks like a LOT of fun and a nice way to run the bike in smile

Hottrax are running it, if you havnt booked it though then your out of luck.

It was fully booked within 2 weeks of becoming available. It was only £99 which is a bargain for the full GP circuit.

Yeah, i was nervous. The folk in my group started ok, but the last two sessions of the day, they lost the plot, and it looked like i was fair game. I did have a word with the organiser, but he was evasive when i asked why fast riders were in the novice group. I think they over subscribed, or just took fast guys money, and put them in the slow group. There wouldn't have been many other first timers out in Feb after all.

Either way, if you paid to be in a faster group or not, you shouldn't be using the novice guys to practise being an arsehole. At least i got the satisfaction of seeing one of the guys cut me up from the inside (causing me to run wide) overcook it, and go into the gravel. Har de har.

Defo worth giving it ago. There is 20+ guys off another forum I'm on going and a couple of them are on the reserve list. same with the zx10 forum about 15 people and a few on the reserve list.

biggrin funny. Karma is a powerful force, just ask Earl. smile

How was the bike? Did running it in make it more difficult to use?
