Hi,

Can anyone tell me what taxes, and what percentage they would be, that I would have to pay if I imported a kit from the USA, the cost of which would be around $16 000.

Duty:-
Engines.......4.2%
Gearboxes.....4.5%
Car parts.....4.2%

If it is in kit form then the above stands, if it is assembled then the duty rate is 10%.

$16000.......kit
$XXXXX.......sea freight.
$XXXX .......Duty.
$XXXXX.......VAT.
£ 100 ish...UK customs handling.


Duty is charged on both goods and the shipping.
VAT is charged on goods, shipping and duty.
