E60 530D Trim Noise

Hi

Purchased a late 05 530D Sport Touring 2 weeks ago and generally very happy with the car. The one thing that is driving me mad is a cracking noise that eminates from the top of the dashboard area every time a hit a bump in the road. I have tried to track down the source to no avail just wondered if anyone could offer any help/advice.

Sounds like you bought a category "D" write off thats been rolled....only kidding......
probably had some work done that required dash top to come off....maybe poorly fitted afterwards?....get it checked next time its in the shop...no probs so far with mine

Things do work loose. Numerous cars even BMW come out of the factory with a rattle of some sort.

are you sure its not coming from the door seals?

It seems to be coming fom the top of the dashboard area and sounds like something touching/tapping/scraping against the windscreen. I have tried to look but that area is so inaccessible. I think BMW will have to look at this problem.
