Strangely I was watching nascar the other night and they were saying their carbs have had the restrictions removed so tehy make more power. Didn't realise they were still running carb set up - yes I know carbs when properly set up are actually quite nice, just thought they would have been on injection

I kind of don't understand this with Holley.

Injection isn't exactly an overnight thing...in fact it's been adopted more & more by car manufacturers since the eighties.
This says to me that Holley have basically failed to keep up with market trends and have rested too much on their laurels.

If I was a major creditor I wouldn't be overly impressed with that - 20 odd years is a long time not to move your company into current market trends.

They do some injection stuff.
I read the main issue was a mass of aquisitions and expansion in the late 90's didnt go down well.
I think the credit crunch didnt help. Im sure they leveraged themselves up at the time and now everyone wants their money back and wont loan them any more on favourable terms. Add in bad cashflow and hello Chapter 11. My guess anyway..
Poor decision, I think the brands etc are still good. Just the holding company made some bad decisions.

Not by choice. Nascar force them to use carbs.

Holley always provided a cheap carb designed for the mass hot rod/custom scene.

Which is still mega in the states.

Now the car`s are so upmarket everyone is opting for the more expensive Edelbrock carb (on which I think the Holley was modelled from) or fuel injection.

The world changes and moves on.

barry grant or demons are based on the holley, not edelbrocks.
