So having just read the post about the Stolen Griff I can't help but wonder how quickly it would be recovered if it has a Tracker fitted. With that in mind I wondered if anyone had had any experiences with Trackers and stolen cars and how soon the BIB's had got them back.
Do any of our resident BIB's ( 999, TonyRec, MadCop ) have any stories??
I know for one that as soon as I get round to purchasing my own Tiv ( 95ish Griff I'm after ) if it hasn't got a Tracker it will be the first thing it gets after a nice tank of Shell's finest go-go juice!!!!

A previous owner of my Chimaera fitted a tracker.

It's still in the car but would cost me £1000 per year to re-register ect!

isn't that £100 a year to register it or £299 for full lifetime cover as long as you own the car?

friend of mine had 996tt X50 stolen about 3 weeks ago, tracker activated, 1 helicopter chase later, recovered in about an hour.

erm, think I'll dig out the paperwork that came with the car.. must've read it wrong

In saying that, the owner before me fitted a Toad cat1 alarm system a year past January and then completed a grand total of 800 miles before I bought it in September!

Only problem with the Tracker is would you want the car back after some thieving toe rag has ragged your motor from cold and then stuffed it in a ditch?

Cars are often returned with no damage or only minor damage.

As long as toerag in question had removed himself from the genepool in the process, and removing the evidence of his tiny brain from being splattered across my paintwork didn't prove to difficult, i would still think it money well spent. After all whats insurance for ???

Of course if he survived I would hope the BiB would throw everything they could at him..... but i don't want to start another thread argument about joyriders being let off and speeders fined
