hi all, just wondering what peoples opinions are of a cerb that is not its original colour? mine is starmist green, but im lucky that a friends relative has a very good local body shop that does all my work and could do me a good price on a colour change.
would this put anyone off if they came to purchace?
or would it not bother you as long as it was a good job?

thanks, james

Well it wouldn't bother me, so long as it was a good job. I reckon it could probably add value to the car. It's never as simple as just that though.

Check apguy's posts regarding his respray - a fantastic job and surely added to the car's value. Then check Tanguero's posts - he found that the great respray highlighted the shabby interior and he's been refitting the car.

So I guess if it's a good job *and* it's in keeping with the rest of the car's condition then it's no bad thing.

yes i see what your saying, if i chose a realy nice colour but it did not mach the interior then i mite have to have it all re-upusterd.
the interior is in good condition but i think it will limit me to the colours i could choose, i do like the colour but it does not stand out as much as some of the others, i thought mabe a realy dark green with a slight pearl would be nice.

To be fair - I did buy the car after the respray and knowing the state of the interior, with enough negotiated of the price to cover the cost of the refit. However it is a good point, a great respray will tend to highlight any interior issues.

Colour changes and resprays don't seem to adversely affect the prices of Cerbs in the same way as they do other cars.

So I say go for it.

bluethunder- that does look mint, i also have that colour interior in mine.
i think i mite look into some colours and see what what will go.

i dont want to get to carried away with it, as its my first cerbera and fist tvr.
the car is in good condition so i dont know if i should just put what money i would spend on the car towards another later car.
any thoughts?

Mr. Thunder - can you put me out of my misery and confirm where that first pic was taken? I know it's somewhere i used to drive past on a daily basis when I lived in London, but can't quite place it. Clapham North? Camberwell New Road?

Not if it was originally one of the slow yellow ones... wobble

Out of interest, how many of the flip-flop paint jobs are there now?

I can think of just three:

- BLUETHUNDER
- Tanguero
- apguy

Any others? I believe Finian O'Boyle's became the Phoenix? Now *that* was an awesome paint job. Almost crashed when I saw that driving towards me.

There's this one belonging to Gazm on here. It's a 2001 4.5LW if he still owns it.

Very nice
Regards
Simon.

There was a guy who owned an Indian restaurant in Harrogate about 10 years ago (the Cinnamon Room, if anyone remembers it) who had a purple one with a rascal flocked paint job. The car looked and sounded fantastic.

Don't know if he was ever on here?
