Came today and stuck them straight on. Need to take her out so she settles down but seems to have plenty of space around the wheel. Will tell for definate when I take her out.

The reason it looks funny at the back of the roof is that there isn't one. Got to fit a new one. Order placed and will get in 4 weeks.

Hey looking good! I'd be interested to hear how they handle. What make are they and what was the cost if I may ask? Can you post the exact sizes of the wheels and tyres please? I'm planning to put new wheels on mine soon, but will prob go with 17" front 18" rear. beer

They look like TSW Kyalami's to me. They look great. I will be going for TSW Catalunya's in the next few weeks, but may only go for 17's.

Would be interested to know what the ride is like with the 18s.

The wheels are 18" TSW Kyalami from alloywheels.com. They cost 605 quid with tyres, and for that i don't mind them including the tyres, even though they aren't the right size for the rears. Tyres are 225x40's and I will look at changing these if I get time to do track days. I will change the rears to 245's when they do change. because theres 40 profiles on the back and rear it meant the wheels could be the same size.
I'll let you know how they handle

I've got you to thank for choosing this type of wheel. I saw your wheel thing on the net and wanted something like the Fox rs4 that you show on your car. Thanks for that. Very helpful wink

I'm glad you found it useful! I've posted a link to it again below just so others know what we are referring to! The Kyalami's/RS4's are a great looking wheel and suit the chimaera.

wheel thing

I'll probably go for the catalunya's as i really want anthracite wheels, however, part of me is tempted by the Rocket 4's (with the black rim). Not to everyone's taste i'm sure, and possibly a bit max power, but i do think they would look good on the car (Rocket 5's are shown in the wheel selector thing)

Catalunya's:

I quite like the TSW Warriors and the Jordans, do you have any bigger pictures of these superimposed on the front and back of your car?

Nice website btw!

Nice one Mick, bring it to SYTVRCC meeting at the Tavern on Sunday so I can have a better look.
Have you got the Turbo fitted yet?
And hows the family?

The wheels have an offset of 25 front and 35 rear. The tyres are 225x40x18 all round but after an initial blat today the rears are ready to break free, but as for the cost I don't mind using it for a bit of cruising then changing in the near future.

The tyres are diamond back, so not a preium brand but they're zr rated. As for stearing it feels planted and very responsive. No problem which I keep hearing about with tramlining or night mare stearing so very pleased. I'll stick another pick on once Ive finished giving it a clean up but it definately sits nice.

£605, ya can't go wrong!!!

Is the width a secret? Combination of width & offset is the pertinent info.

Sorry mate, they are 7.5 front and rear. I'll double check it in the morning to make sure.

AFIK 230/40x18 is about as large you can go on 7.5" rims, but check across the tyre manufacturers. IMHO if you are wanting 18" wheels you should ideally be looking for 8.5J wheels wink

Too many variables..... I have http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible_pg2.html
bookmarked as a general guide which you may find useful wink Don't take it as hard fact, but it gives you an idea..

Toyo would seem to suggest 225/40/18 http://www.toyo.co.uk/productdetail.php?identity=p...

If you have the budget to buy differing width rims I'd say 9" on the rear so that you can choose from 225/40/18 right through to 275/35/18.

I am running 235/40/18s T1S and now T1R on my 7.5 inch rears with no problems, tyre wear has been fine, very even and no evidence of "crowning" of the tread. Slight preponderance of inner shoulder wear due to running about 2 degrees negative camber. I wouldnt want to put anything wider on though without going to wider rims.

Sitting better and a little cleaner. Still roofless!! Only issue i'm finding is there is the tiniest catch on the OSF wheel and arch, but its where its been repaired previously so I am going to shape to fit. If a jobs worth doing and all that.
Sizes are 7x18s front and 25 offset and 8x18s and an offset of 35 on the rear. Feels sorted and very sharp. The rears are no where near to catching any part of the inner arch.
