The article said:
The company claims that the car is not only revolutionary but extremely "green" as well. It is a zero-emission vehicle and has a salt water-resistant interior.
He went on: "For safety reasons, we have built the vehicle as an open car so that the occupants can get out quickly in an emergency. With an enclosed cabin, opening the door might be impossible."
So basically, you're going to get wet... He went on: "For safety reasons, we have built the vehicle as an open car so that the occupants can get out quickly in an emergency. With an enclosed cabin, opening the door might be impossible."

You gotta love Rinspeed... they never made a car that made any kind of sense.
However I would say that being underwater in an Elise is hardly "breaking new ground"... I'm sure my depth guage registered when 10 mtrs when I was at Abbeville last October.
Save ££££s and buy an S1, not a Rinspeed SQuba

In the artical they claim that the original shots were just animation which was not true, Lotus acutally built an underwater Esprit although it was not sealed and full breathing kit had to be worn. Must have been fun to keep a shape off the bottom that has been designed to give downforce.
They also built the Esprit for the stunts and apparently used to get messages from the film makers saying things like 'brace engine bay for rocket launchers', must have been a load of fun!
God I am full of useless sh1t!!

Further adding to the useless sh1t They also built the Esprit for the stunts and apparently used to get messages from the film makers saying things like 'brace engine bay for rocket launchers', must have been a load of fun!

what I heard was that the stunt drivers employed by the film company couldn't handle the car properly..! So the driving you see in the film is actually Lotus' official test driver!

Probably let less water in than an S1 roof. They also built the Esprit for the stunts and apparently used to get messages from the film makers saying things like 'brace engine bay for rocket launchers', must have been a load of fun!

Still great publicity for Lotus - Sky are dragging out Roger Moore in the Esprit, too....and running the footage of both cars about every 15 minutes as they do on the 'breaking news' channel. ( Read ' let's take a break with the same news' channel )
May even make we owners more than we already are...cue loads of kids screaming ' there's one of those boat cars, mum!!! '.
I reckon S1's have just appreciated a grand or two overnight
