Picture removed in case some thieving bd chooses to use it without my permission or paying me a penny.

My photograph Madonna and Child is to be shown at Proud Galleries as part of an exhibition 'Renaissance'. Further details of the exhibition may be found by visiting http://www.renaissancephotography.org/exhibition.p... It should be an interesting show and I hope that some of you may be able to pay it a visit.

Opening times -

Thursday and Friday - 11.00-19.00
Saturday - 11.00-17.00
Sunday - 11.00-18.00

I'm up in London on Saturday, meeting some friends, and will probably want an art gallery to look around - this might just do the trick!

Good luck with the exhibition too! thumbup

well done mate, looks a nice space biggrin

the use of historical reference there reminds me of tom hunters woman reading a possesion order, based on a clasical painting.

Well done!

I've just browsed the competition winners - there looks to be loads of inspiring stuff there and some really great images. Have to say the "Madonna and Child" is superb, Emma.

Hope I can get along between 6th and 9th....

...nice work, is it one of a series?...
I know his work well. He produced that series a year or so before I did mine. He did inspire me a great deal. Mine is one of a series of seven photographs based on Renaissance paintings. Each photograph depicted a modern day equivalent of classical themes. St Sebastian - a pierced man, signifying the pleasure and pain of martyrdom (my friend, up some scaffolding, stark-bollock naked on a building site); Venus and Adonis - my cynical take on modern day relationships and 'lads'; Adam and Eve - two body-builders, alluding to the use of steroids; The Three Graces - a look at young women, club culture and the corrupting influence of sex, drugs and smoking; The Crucifixion - anti-road protestors, sacrificing all for their beliefs; and Victory - rising young stars in football.

Ooh! What's on at the Barbican? I haven't checked out what is showing at the moment in London.

Is it this?

Do you know I must have imagined that the times were up there. What an over-sight! I'll give them a call in the morning and post the details on here.
