Car is booked in to get the power steering pump relays replaced. The pumps is staying on even when ignition is off. Unfortunately this has drained the battery even though the car is on a trickle charger.

What I was shocked at was the fact that the passenger window ended up fully open and the drivers partially. Thankfully the car is garaged but if that happened on the street I would be well pi55ed off.

I'm presuming this is not some kind of failsafe system that drops the windows on low battery?

that happened to mine once -

I was away on business in asia and got a call from the mrs saying that the alarm had gone off and all the windows were down - now the battery was totally flat and the windows were stuck wide open.
This was at 2am and she wasnt best pleased.. but she did manage to tape it up with tescos carrier bags and when I got home all the neighbours thought it had ben broken in too.....

I did at the time think it was an odd response to the alarm going off (even if it was due to a flat batt) as if someone was trying to break in, you dont really want to lower all the windows to make it easier.....

Well Paul and Heath - ex factory chaps sorted out the faulty relay today. Paul did a home visit and had the car up and running in 30 mins. Top service once again, thanks.

I'll mention the window issue on Tuesday when the car is in for a few other bits anyway.

Lucozade,
Did you get anywhere with the windows dropping down when the battery went flat? Mine did exactly the same the other day (tuscan 2).
Cheers,
Ben.
