Yeah mine leak a little, and a right bu**er it is to get too to get the size socket on there.
Seems to be the middle almost cardboard bit that leaks. I think the rubber ring round an oil filter fitted for one of the seals ?

can't find any site that describes the actual seals I need , don't want to get the wrong bits ! Wonder what drops out when you take off that bolt apart from oil ? do you have to drain oil first , hope not .

Check on the Rimmer site :

http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/rimmer/rover/v8engine/...

They list 3 different o rings for it .. at around 90p each it's probably worth getting they all and see what fits..

When you drop the bolt quite a bit of oil comes out. I think the thicker one in the middle is some sort of composite gasket with spokes from outside supporting a smaller gasket in the middle, and this is the one you might find difficult to get hold off

What else did the Rover V8 use a remote filter or oil cooler on as standard ? As they may have listings for this

I bought Adam's spare one, but the gaskets are shot on that one also.
If you do the above post up what part number is what with pic's.
If not let me know I'll buy all 3 and do the above.

.. or alternatively get some of the gasket material and make one yourself!

The other one is just an oil filter one, you can use one from a new filter, then re-use the one from the old filter on the next change.

If it's just weeping a bit try nipping up the 'nut' first.

Is the required part number etc9065 , 'sealing ring adaptor' ? Thanks for all your replies , don't know what wedge owners would do without 'the community help line ' , Adam , I tried nipping up the bolt , it needed tightening but didn't stop weeping oil out of the first seal .
