New Challenger
Discussion
Looking at last weeks Autocar, I decided if that's all they cost - £20,500 converted from dollars - then I'll ship one across the pond as a replacement for the 'ro in a years time.
Opened up this weeks Autocar and find that they're all sold out and a well known American Car Import company is going to take some in for £49,000
.......... back to the "Camaro" it is then

I think id go for the unreleased camaro which was in the transformers movie. But my friend who works for GM Holden in the experimental engineering department in Oz told me it want be coming out until 2010. But he did tell me about a 4 wheel drive LS2 SC Monaro they have. Which he said went like a balistic missile. Happy days
Blimey, I really fancied the Challenger also, looks as nice as the Camaro but much nicer interior. But if going to be £49K I will look elsewhere even a Nissan GTR.
Also problem with the Camaro is it looks like you hide a bus behind those C pillar and that spoils it a little for me.
Cheers

Only the initial limited number SRT8 auto's are sold out.
Full production will commence on the standard v6 and v8 stuff later this year. So you can still get a challenger. Its just the numbered 6.1L one are all gone.
Supposed to go on sale in the US around July/Aug.
Camaro still on track for April09 production starting October 08.

Where do you people get your dates?
The Camaro goes in to production in October for release February '09. The convertible a year later - and likely with us in the same time frame - but so far it'll be LHD only.

fbodfather (works for GM) frequently posts on those!
In any case, the Camaro was/is my next car if the car stays true to what I've seen so far - though I'm not keen on a $30k car being £40k over here - nor do I like the LHD on a brand-new-car either...
