What are your best driving routes?
I live in Berks and wanna day trip out with nice scenery and good roads. Any ideas?

B4494 Newbury - Wantage road. Lots of good overtaking opportunities & high speed bends whilst taking you over the Downs.

A4 Newbury - Hungerford - Marlborough - Calne. Getting more populated by speed camera vans nowadays but a good wide road down the Kennet Valley.

How about this for a run?

A4 Newbury - Beckhampton A4361 through Hungerford & Marlborough

Beckhampton - Wroughton A4361 (popular with bikers, so beware of unmarked police cars & bikes) Stop & wander around in Avebury village.

B4005 Wroughton - Chiseldon. Not the best bit of the journey!

Turn right onto A346 & immediately left to Foxhill, looking down over Thames Valley

In Foxhill turn right onto Ermin Street (Roman road) towards Baydon & Newbury B4000

I bet you have already driven from Caversham to Henley ? I love the bit up to Shiplake from Caversham.
