Alfa Romeo 8C for $265,000...what do we think?

I expressed my interest in purchasing one to the Alfa factory quite some time ago. They said they'd get back to me, and months passed, so I figured it was time to get over my obsession with the car. Time went on, I read a few reviews and I'm not sure what to think. Many indicated an underdeveloped suspension and the impression that there isn't as much power as their should be.
To my surprise, I've been approached by a dealership today that has 2 in stock for $265,000 USD. Seems like a somewhat princely sum if you ask me. I mean, granted, the styling is almost priceless, but what's the general consensus on the rest of the car's ability?
I already own a Quattroporte, which I hear shares some components with the 8C. Would the 8C just end up feeling like a more lightweight Quattroporte? I am looking for something "new" in terms of feeling, so should I give the 8C a miss? What else there to compare it to at this price point? (or less)?

I'm not sure how many people you are going to find (aside from motoring journalists) who're going to be able to give you an informed opinion on the driving experience with the 8C. You're most likely to get a fair sense just trawling the net for car reviews.
At the end of the day, it's an ALFA. Predictably, it's stunning.
