My car's been away for A week, long story, but on starting it this morning, the hot air to clear the windscreen didn't seem to be coming out with much ooomf.

The flow of air could be adjusted still, but it didn't feel like it had much power when it was turned fully clockwise. Also, I couldn't "hear" the air coming out. I normally get a "roar"...well you know what I mean smile

By the time I got to work, it was back to full power, plus I could hear it again.

Some people have posted on here, that the fan isn't up to much, and I reckon I've just had the first symptoms of their problem smile

I presume its the motor on the fan starting to fail ?

I think the same sometimes but put it down to low battery, maybe the drive charged the battery up good again.

Check the flap is opening fully in the airbox. You have to slide the ducting off the box and stick your finger in to feel if the flap is free moving. One side is for hot air and the other for cold.I think its the passenger side flap that is for hot air.

Maybe like almost all parts of these cars, it just didn't like not having been used for a while?
