I attempted to top up the brake fluid on my wifes S4 this morning as the level reservoir is slightly below the minimum. For some reason, the fluid is not going into the reservoir (it just sits in the top by the cap & doesn't seem to seep down through the filtering mesh.

Unfortunately, the manual is about as helpful as chocolate fireguad & just refers you to an Audi dealer. However, there must be a simple way of topping up the fluid!!

Am I missing something?!

Generally if you need brake fluid your brake pads are wearing down, check those first.
Topping up is a bit of a fiddle, if the car is facing slightly nose down it makes the job a bit easier.

stick a screwdriver down the side of the cap thing inside the reservoir to release the air block whilst u top it up.
